NeuroBytes: How Many Concussions are too Many?

NeuroBytes: How Many Concussions are too Many?

Course Description

Over the last 40 years, science has been trying to answer the question, ‘What is the head injury burden that would lead to persistent or progressive neurologic problems?’ At this point, we still do not know exactly how many concussions are too many. We do, however, have some guidelines for making this determination with each individual athlete.

Learning Objectives

As a result of this program the learner will be able to:
  • Determine how many concussions may be too many in a given athlete, and how to undertake a shared decision-making process to holistically consider retirement from contact sports.
